Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Yieldsaw ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use yieldsaw.com and the Yieldsaw mobile app (together, the "Service").
Yieldsaw is operated by Simon Billington, trading as MacDoodler ("we," a UK sole trader).
If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at privacy@yieldsaw.com.
1. What data we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect the information provided through our authentication provider (Auth0), which may include:
- Your name and email address
- Profile information from social login providers, if you choose to sign in via Google, Apple, or Microsoft
- Login timestamps and session data, used to keep you securely signed in
Project and usage data
To provide the Service, we store the data you create while using it, including:
- Cutting plans, project names, and cut-list data
- Material and stock/warehouse inventory you enter
- Shopping list items
- Cut-progress tracking data
This data is stored to let you access your own projects across sessions and devices. We do not use it for any purpose beyond providing the Service to you.
Payment information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe (via RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your full card details — these are handled entirely by Stripe under their own security standards (PCI DSS compliant). We do receive and store subscription status (active, cancelled, etc.) and transaction history necessary to manage your account and provide support.
Analytics data
Our marketing website (yieldsaw.com) uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors find and use our site. This may include:
- Pages visited, time spent, and general navigation patterns
- Approximate location (derived from IP address, not precise location)
- Device and browser type
GA4 tracking on our marketing pages only activates with your consent, where required by law (see Section 6, Cookies).
Camera / ARKit data (mobile app)
If you use the app's camera-based measurement features (ARKit), image and depth data captured is processed on your device to generate measurements. This data is not uploaded to or stored on our servers unless you explicitly save a project that includes captured measurements.
2. How we use your data
We use the data described above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure
- Process subscription payments and manage your entitlement
- Understand how our marketing site is used, to improve it
- Communicate with you about your account, service changes, or support requests
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your project data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Who we share data with
We share data with the following service providers, each of whom processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Auth0 | Authentication and account login |
| Cloudflare (Workers, D1) | Application hosting and database storage |
| Google Analytics (GA4) | Website analytics |
| Stripe | Payment processing |
| RevenueCat | Subscription entitlement management across web and app |
| Apple (App Store) | In-app purchases, if made via the iOS app |
We do not share your data with any other third party except where required by law, or with your explicit consent.
4. International data transfers
Some of our service providers (including Auth0, Cloudflare, Google, and Stripe) may process data outside the UK/EU, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we rely on the provider's own compliance mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure your data remains protected to UK/EU standards.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and project data for as long as your account remains active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data and project data within 30 days of that request, except where we are required to retain certain records (e.g. transaction records) for legal or accounting purposes.
6. Cookies
Our marketing website uses cookies for:
- Essential functionality (e.g. remembering your cookie preference) — these do not require consent
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4) — these only activate after you consent via our cookie banner
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your cookies or adjusting your browser settings. The Yieldsaw app itself does not use tracking cookies.
7. Your rights
If you are located in the UK or EU, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@yieldsaw.com. We will respond within one month, as required by UK GDPR.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under this age.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Service or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
